My First Day at Work
Today was my first day at my new job, and it went ok. I was in the refridgerated dock area for the first few hours, and that was no big deal. Some warm gloves and a sweatshirt were fine. The latter hours were spent in the freezer. My blood came to a screeching halt in my veins, my heart froze mid beat, my hands and feet fell off, and I was blinded by shards of glass when my glasses cracked and shattered. And that was only in the first hour! Needless to say, I need some warmer clothing. Tomorrow I will be better prepared, that's for sure. They put me on the forklift right away, which was awesome. When beginning other forklift driving jobs, I've been forced to complete training and certification before they even show me the forklifts. I've been certified in every single fork-wielding vehicle there is for over four years now, and still I have to sit through videos, read packets, complete testing, etc. For goodness sake, I'm kind of a big deal! These guys happily took my word for it, because I would't have made it four inches on those reach trucks without crashing had I never driven one before. Them things are goofy! lol. But here I am, no worse off due to the cold. I took a really hot shower as soon as I got home and my body returned to it's normal, functioning state. There's nothing worse than spending four hours in a fridge, then four hours in a deep freezer, then driving 25 miles home in a 40 below windchill in a car that takes about 24 miles of driving to warm up. Nothing important here, just thought I'd share the story with you all. Thanks for reading!

haha sucks to be you :p
No wonder there was this horrifically cold breeze wafting throught the apt. late last night...lol
It will be nice in summer though.
that was pretty entertaining
Are there any popsicles..
@xonthis - Nope. Just lots and lots of gas station and/or vending machine prewrapped food.
@vwagenjetta - do you get any for free
@xonthis - Yes. They give out free samples to potential customers, so they have to keep a stock of everything they make in case a potential customer requests a product sample. Food expires, and we don't give out that many samples, so we get to take anything we want from the 'sample' shelf. Some of it is REALLY good. I haven't tried their pizza yet, but I'm sure it's fantastic.
